I stopped by my doctors office today, so that I could pick up a prescription that she had waiting for me.
While there I took the opportunity to weigh myself.
Since my last weigh in, approximately a week ago, I have lost an additional 6 pounds.
I don't feel a lot lighter but the numbers don't lie. Actually, I weighed myself 3 times just in case the scales were lying.
So far I have lost a total of 16 pounds. I still would like to drop 10 or more pounds.
I would be really happy at that point in time. My ultimate goal is to weigh about 175-178 pounds.
With my medication, the heat, my exercising and my changes in eating habits, I figure I should be where I want to be in about a month. As hard as I have been working, it could be sooner.

Congratulations Rick , thats great! I think sometimes you reach a level that stays there for a while til you kick start it with something.
I never had to diet until just last year when I gained about 16 lbs. (over the course of a couple years.) I went on the South Beach diet. No white anything ... sugar, rice, bread, etc. the first 2 weeks is pretty rough, then you slowly allow carbs, but the right carbs. after you reach your goal you just maintain a very healthy eating habit. You can have an occasional treat. Absolutely, and you will lose weight. I lost the 16 lbs. and ave kept it off for a year and just recently put back a couple lbs. so now I have to just keep a check on it. I have been going a little haywire so thats why the gain. Too much self-confidence ( like oh, I won't gain it back ) But what I mostly wanted to tell you was that I couldn't seem to get past the 4th week and lose anything. So I started walking again. Something I have done for the last 20 years, but had slacked off. As soon as I did that the weight started to come off again... anyway, the South Beach diet is healthy, you can check it out online , I have the book, it makes sense. And you really feel so much better. ( good luck) ...Veronica;s friend Barbra Joan
That's awesome...congrats!
