More Preparations For Paris

Only approximately 45 days left until we head out to Paris, France. We have been studying up on speaking and understanding the French language. Veronica is doing much better than I am in learning the language. Practicing to speak French reminds me how poorly I did when I took it as a class in High School...sshhhh don't tell anyone but I actually took French 101 three years in a row. It took me those 3 years just to get a passing grade in 1st year French. Needless to say....I wasn't much of a student in High School.
We purchased some tickets online through  I researched several online sites that sell various tickets and passes. I found this company to have the best assortment and combinations of packages, tickets and passes around plus their prices were better than their competitors.
This is what we ended up getting 2 each of:
Paris Combo Pass Premium for 6 days...this pass includes the following:

  • FREE unlimited use of all the public transport
  • FREE unlimited access/cut the lines to 60+ museums and monuments
  • FREE Seine River cruise tour
  • Special discounts and offers for additional Paris attractions
  • Flexible! Add-ons available to adjust the pass to your needs
  • Free Paris street/metro/bus map
  • Free 30-day access to online French lessons
  • Free ComboPass® Discount Card with selected partners.
  • Delivery is available to your hotel in Paris or to your home worldwide. Delivery to a pickup location in Paris is possible if you are renting an apartment or staying at a hostel. We can deliver to apartments that offers standard hotel reception services.

An additional Paris Metro Transportation Pass for the remaining days we will be in Paris and it includes the following:

It provides FREE travel rides in Paris (with no limit) on the transport system including Metro, RER (regional express trains), bus, tramway, suburban Transilien SNCF trains, Montmartre funicular, Noctambus, Optile bus system and Montmartrobus.

We also purchased the Eiffel Tower VIP Evening Visit And Champagne Cruise which includes the following:

After a long day of sightseeing, treat yourself to a glass of Champagne as you cruise by Paris’s most famous monuments during an exclusive, hour-long evening cruise on the Seine.
You’ll also head straight past the long entrance lines at the Eiffel Tower, where you’ll have the valuable insight of your English-speaking guide as you explore the second floor. Your Eiffel Tower ticket includes access to the very top floor which you can visit at your leisure and enjoy spectacular views of Paris as it dazzles with light below.
This tour is limited to 20 people and they save the front of the boat for people in this tour. The front of the boat is best suited for taking photographs.

We also purchased the Batobus Riverboat Hop On/Hop Off tickets for 2 days. This allows us to go to various locations in Paris via a boat ride on the seine river. I believe that there are 8 different stops on this boat route on the Seine.

Lastly we purchased the night time Cruise Illuminations tour which includes the following:

You will first discover the brilliantly illuminated bridges and monuments as you cruise along the Seine. Departing from the Eiffel Tower, welcomed by the crew for a one-hour cruise on one of the trimarans of the fleet. The boats are entirely glassed over with a terrace at the stern and outside walkways and are perfectly designed for exploring and admiring the architectural treasures of the capital. A clear, lively commentary enriched with words and music evoking the places and periods visited is broadcast on individual handsets in 13 languages. Right after the cruise, the driver-guide will take you for a panoramic tour to discover Paris at night, "City of Light".

The panoramic tour that is mentioned in the description is via a bus.
I was able to download the vouchers for a couple of the tours that we are taking and the rest of the packet will be mailed here to our home.
There are just a few more things that need to be done before our trip begins but we are slowly getting things done.
