The Route 58 Delicatessen

This afternoon Veronica and I tried out a new restaurant...at least new to us. It is called the Route 58 Delicatessen which is on 4000 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 in the Loehmann's Plaza shopping center.
The menu was extensive with many styles of Reuben sandwiches, Matzo Ball soup, pastrami, corned beef, beef brisket, turkey, various kinds of Knishes and too many other delectables to list.
As good as, if not better than most New York delis.
You can get sandwiches large...a full lb of meat or a smaller 1/2 of meat sandwich.
I got the 1lb very lean pastrami and beef brisket sandwhich and Veronica got the roasted turkey 1lb sandwich.
These sandwiches were absolutely huge and reminded me of the size of sandwich I used to get at Arthur Bryants Bar-B-Que Restaurant in Kansas City.
Needless to say we took half of the food home with us for another meal.
They also had numerous styles of new York style cheesecake.
Due to the price it isn't a place that I would go often but to try it once...it was worth the experience and a delight to the tastebuds.
