I got up early this morning knowing that I had a full day ahead of me as did Veronica.
After waking up, I went for a walk and promptly went into my workout. After spending a couple of hours doing my weight lifting I then proceeded to do some house cleaning before our house sitter arrived for a quick briefing and tour of the place.
I finished up the house cleaning after the house sitter left and finally slowed down enough to relax a bit. The house sitter will return here for the duration of our time away, starting tomorrow morning.
Veronica and I will do our flight check in before leaving.
I am still in the process of finishing up the laundry and it seems like this day will never end.
Veronica is still at work and won't be home until 10pm or so. Once she gets home, I will finish packing up the SUV and by that time, I am sure that even as excited as we are about this trip, we will probably fall fast asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
This will be my last blog entry until we return from this, our latest adventure.
I will have lots to write about and of course there will be tons of photos to go through and upload for everyone to look at.
It is always nice to visit old memories and even nicer to make new ones. Let the new memory making begin.
Counting Down The Minutes
Veronica and I have just about finished packing everything up for our upcoming 14 day NCL cruise on the Sun.
We have just a few minor things to pack up and that will be finished tomorrow night...Wed.
I will do some house cleaning tomorrow and finish that all up on Thursday.
We will have our house sitter coming over early Thursday afternoon.
Sometime after Veronica gets off work, we will be heading to the Norfolk, VA area where we will be staying at a Country Inn and Suites...one of our favorite hotel chains.
We will be doing our flight check in from the hotel as soon as possible to make sure that we keep the seats that we have.
Friday morning we will head to Norfolk International Airport to begin our long journey to Copenhagen.
We will first be flying into Dulles Airport, where we will have almost a 6 hour layover until our SAS flight leaves at approximately 5:15PM.
Hopefully we will get a good nights sleep on our flight and wake up on the other side of the "pond" and be landing in Copenhagen.
Once we gather up all of our luggage, we will be locating a taxis or some form of transportation to our hotel...the Copenhagen Marriott.
Once we freshen up, we will head out for a full day of site seeing in Copenhagen with us ending our festivities at Tivoli Garden.
We will then head back to our hotel and get what I am sure will be a great nights sleep.
Our cruise officially begins the following day.
Veronica and I will be sharing a journal so that we can put our thoughts and also keep track of what we did each day.
I have used a journal on our trips before and it helps greatly when we return home and I am writing my blog entries. Without it I would probably lose track of what we did on which days and all of the very interesting things we saw or did.
Veronica and I will have a great time on this adventure and we are very excited to get it started.
We are counting down the minutes until we begin this adventure.
Below are some photos of the amount of luggage we are taking with us on this trip.

Below are some photos of the amount of luggage we are taking with us on this trip.
Each piece of luggage is 29" tall. The blue luggage are the new spinner pieces that we just bought. They are very light weight. The older bluish colored piece is a heavy duty piece of luggage with firmer sides and support system. That is holding our heavier and easier damaged items. Hopefully all will make it through the upcoming flights safe and sound.
Stormy Afternoon
For the most part it was a clear day. It was a little warm but a cold front was supposed to pass through late this afternoon or early evening, bringing with it cooler temperatures.
Around 4 o'clock this afternoon, it started getting dark out and you could tell a storm was brewing.
And of course I had my trusty camera at the ready. Below are a few photos along with several movies that contain lightning in them. I have been practicing on getting good lightning strike movies and then using software to slow down the motion in order to better view the lightning.
If you have the capabilities of making each movie larger or even full screen, I suggest you try viewing them that way.

The next 3 videos are of the same scene but are each saved at different speeds
General Update
Veronica and I have only 8 days left until we leave here for our overseas vacation.
All of our bags are packed up except for one piece of luggage. This last piece of luggage won't be completely packed until the day we leave.
On another note, Veronica and I went to IKEA the other week and purchased an item that is used to hang up works of art from a wire line that is attached by brackets to a wall. We bought 3 of these items with the though that we would put 2 away until we get to our final housing location and the other item we would use here.
After thinking about it further, we decided to keep the three art hanging devices for future use and instead we used 2 screw in the wall hooks and then tied some yarn between the 2 hooks. We placed this art hanger above our bed and with the clips that came from the sets that we got from IKEA, we hung several of Veronica's works of art. We put up several that she made for me along with others that were of a Halloween nature.
We will be changing the Halloween artwork out for the Christmas artwork that she made after Halloween is over with.
Below are photos of our art hanger, her works of art that she made that we hung up and one photo showing where the Birthday canvas that I made for Veronica is displayed in our bedroom. I originally had this piece on the top of one of our tall speakers but because I have a tendency to put my elbows out when cleaning, I had a good feeling that if I didn't move the piece to a safer position, my elbows would eventually catch it and it would end up on the floor broken. Too much time and love went into creating this piece for Veronica that I really felt the need to protect it from me.
