The Fox

My friend John Jakobs, from Vermilion Bay in Ontario Canada has been sending me some photos of fox that he has befriended.
This fox seems to have quite the sophisticated palate and has shared Johns bologna sandwich and now appears to like the hotdogs that John has been bringing him/her.
John told me that this fox will take a piece of hotdog and then bury it in the snow.
I can't say that I blame the fox for doing this. They have some long cold winters up in that neck of the woods.
Below are a couple of photos that John has sent me of his new forest buddy.
Thanks for sharing John.

A New Blog Is Born

My friend John from up in the Vermilion Bay, Ontario Canada area had made mention of wanting to put together a business styled web site. I suggested to him that a blog might suit his needs and it sure would be a lot cheaper than having someone else build a web site for him.
I decided to help John out in making his new blog. After all, that is what friends do for each other and he has helped me out quite a bit, so I figured it was now my turn.
John's blog isn't finished yet but we are heading in the right direction.
For those of you that have a moment to spare, please feel free to visit John's new blog.
It is my honor to present you to Johns Outdoor Adventures

Cruising In A Cadillac

My friend John Jakobs, from up in Vermilion Bay Canada, was down in the Florida Keys for vacation recently.
He and his wife went down there to do some fishing.
One day while he was fishing near or under a bridge, this vehicle went cruising by.
Who says that VW Bugs were the only cars that could float.
Thanks for sharing John.

Kissed By A Moose

My friend John Jakobs, from Ontario Canada, sent me this great photo. Thank you for sharing this with us John.
The caption that accompanied this photo is:
Pete Young is standing on his back deck which is about 2 feet off of the ground and he is about
6' 1" and weighs about 250lbs, so she is a fair sized critter.
This photo was taken in Fort St. John BC, Canada

First We Had Snow Moose And Now We Have Snow Deer

In a previous blog entry, I had photos of Snow (albino) Moose and now we have photos of these beautiful Snow (albino) Deer.
These photos were provided to my by our friend, John Jakobs, from Ontario Canada. Unfortunately I do not know who took the photos, so I can't give them their proper credit.
These twin Snow Deers were seen and photographed behind the Gray Rock Cafe in Grayling, Michigan.
These really are beautiful animals. I would love to see these deer and the Snow Moose too, so that I could personally see and photograph them. Thank you John, for sharing these with us.

Extreme Canadian Ice Fishing

John Jakobs, my friend from up in Ontario province of Canada, sent me this video of extreme Canadian ice fishing. These folks are a lot hardier than I am. Just watching this gets me to shivering..brrrrrr.

Polar Bear Tales

My friend John Jakobs, from Ontario province in Canada, sent me this story and photographs about a rather friendly Polar Bear. Thanks John for sharing this with us.

Norbert Rosing ' s striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada ' s Hudson Bay. The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in.

It ' s hard to believe that this polar bear only needed to hug someone!

The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.

May you always have love to share,
Health to spare,
And friends that care

A Snow Moose? What A Beautiful Animal!!

I received the following photos and story from my friend John Jacobs, from up in Ontario Canada. I am not sure where it originated from but I thought I would pass it on because it is something that very few people get to see. Thank you for sharing it with us John.

Beautiful Snow Moose A must see…… You probably won't see this again in your life time!

These animals were photographed just north of the Wisconsin border on a highway near Marenisco , MI ... Once in awhile there is an opportunity to take in a piece of nature that you may never see. In these days of unrest and turmoil it is great to see that nature still produces some wondrous beauty for us to appreciate.

The odds of seeing an albino moose are astronomical and to see this in the upper peninsula of Michigan, near Wisconsin, is even greater than astronomical. To see two of them together is nearly impossible.
We wanted to share these photos with as many people as possible because you will probably never have a chance to see this rare sight again.
This is a really special treat, so enjoy the shots of a lifetime.

Ice Fishing Up In Canada

Here are several photos that my friend John Jakobs took of he and his wife Silvia ice fishing...I believe it is on Eagle Lake in Ontario Canada. It looks like they caught some really nice Lake Trout. Veronica and I have been out fishing with John, on Eagle Lake, several times. I remember last September, Veronica and I were out on Eagle Lake fishing with John and it was one of those really nasty days. Dark clouds, cold temps, windy and on and off rain. It was a tough day of fishing to say the least but John made it fun to be out there in that lousy weather.
