Back Home

Veronica and I finally made it back home late last night. Flying and being sick made yesterday a very long day and night. I was starting to feel better but that did not last long and now Veronica is sick too. It was definitely not one of our better vacations, that's for sure. We really did not take many pictures at all this year. As I had mentioned in an earlier post, we found out that our dear buddy and pal, Dakota, past away last November. We were shocked and saddened to hear this news. I will miss Dakota deeply. Being in camp just wasn't quite the same without her being with us.
IN MEMORY OF A DEAR FRIEND
Dakota
I WILL MISS YOU

Below is a video that I took while Darcy and I were heading out for an evening of fishing. This was on the last night of our vacation up on Eagle Lake.

Cabin #8 at Andy Myers Lodge

Here are the last photos of our favorite cabin at the lodge...Cabin #8. Not the newest built nor the fanciest but it has a character that Veronica and I both love.

Of course cabin #8 is nothing without Dakota in it.

Canadian Vacation 2008 Day 11

Fishing was real slow today so not much to talk about on that subject. So, today it is all about Dakota the camp dog.

T Minus 16 Days and Counting

Only 16 days until Veronica and I head up North, to Canada, to do some fishing and total relaxation. It has been approximately 15 months since we were there last. It will be great to see our friends up there and to see my favorite camp dog...Dakota. We already have most of our clothes packed. Just toiletries and some small items to pack up yet. It was hard to pack this year. Usually we go up to Andy Myers Lodge on Eagle Lake during the month of June. We bring mainly warm weather clothes. This year we had to bring a little of everything to cover all possibilies that mother nature might have in store for us. That time of year the weather can really change from one day to the next. It will be great to be back in the boat every morning waiting to see what adventures and fish come our way. With a little luck, we will both catch our trophy fish this year!!!!

More photos of the interior of Cabin #8 at Andy Myers Lodge

Here we have a couple of more photos of the interior of cabin #8 at Andy Myers Lodge. We also have some photos of our favorite camp buddy, Dakota, the camp dog and one of our favorite dinner guests.

One really hungry dog

Here is a video of Dakota. She was one hungry dog and had a really hard time waiting for me to bring in her grilled steak.

Dakota Andy Myers Lodge Camp Dog

But don't tell her she is a dog. Dakota is a constant companion of ours while we are staying at the Camp. She will come to our cabin for dinner every night and will hang out with us until it is time for us to go to sleep. On days where my wife doesn't go fishing Dakota will stay with her in the cabin the entire day. We have been known on occasion to buy Dakota her own T-Bone Steak. She is by far the best dog we have ever come across. Steve Herbeck sure knew what he was doing when he picked Dakota.
