Just About Vacation Time

Veronica and I have had a cruise planned and booked since 06/14/2014. Our vacation and cruise is slowly approaching. On 9/23/15 we will be starting off on another adventure. We will be flying from Norfolk to Atlanta to Amsterdam to Venice. Our return will be just the opposite route. We will be staying at the same hotel in Venice as we did when we went there in 2013.... Papadopoli Hotel Venezia   We will be staying there for a couple of nights prior to boarding our ship to start our cruise. We will be on the Norwegian Cruise Line Jade in an aft balcony cabin like this one:

We are really looking forward to having a balcony cabin on this cruise. Below is our itinerary for the cruise. Besides taking 2 days to visit Venice before the cruise starts we will be stopping in Venice as one of our port of calls about half way through our cruise.

As I usually do on our adventures I will be writing a daily journal of each days worth of activities along with our usual ton of photos.
We still have a little packing to do but for the most part we are ready to hit the road for another adventure.

Our Move Is A Thing Of The Past

This last Monday, 8/31, Veronica returned to our old residence on the outer Banks for the last time. A couple of hours were spent dusting, last minute touch up painting and several other odds and ends in order to finish our moving out cleanup. By the time we left the old place actually looked better than what it did when we first moved in. Before we left we even took a video of the interior to show the shape we left it in and also took photos of the water meter showing the current reading. I know this might sound a little strange to some but because we have no trust in the property owner we felt the need to document such things just in case he decided that he wanted to power wash the building on our dime before the water was turned back over to the management company.
After completing our very last cleanup, we drove over to the management company and dropped our keys off and provided them with our new address so that they could send us our deposit back minus the current water bill.
We then drove out of the Outer Banks without looking back and with no sadness except the fact that we will miss the few friends that we actually made their (and if you few friends read this you will know who your are.
So now it is time to head into a new chapter of our lives...one that Veronica and I are looking forward to.
Today was a long day. Dad and I had to get up early because he had an appointment with an eye surgeon...cataracts. He had one of his eyes done this morning. We were so excited about the procedure that we ended up in the parking lot about a half hour before the place even opened. Actually it was still kind of dark out. Dad was the first on the surgical list and we actually left early because I had no idea how the traffic around here would be that early in the morning. Needless to say...the traffic was not anything like I had anticipated because we got there way before we needed to.
Tomorrow will be an even longer day for my Dad. He has dialysis until mid afternoon and then we go for the day after surgery followup appointment with the eye surgeon. I had better get to bed early because tomorrow will be here before I know it.

Last Trip To The Outer Banks Coming Up

Lately our lives have been very hectic. Veronica has started working at her new store. I have been taking my Dad to all of his dialysis treatments along with numerous trips to other doctors appointments. Dad is having cataract surgery coming up next week so that will add to an already busy schedule.
Veronica and I will be heading back down to the Outer Banks to do our final cleanup of our place down there and then we will stop by the management company to drop off our keys.
We do have some excitement coming up later on in September. Veronica and I will be going back to Venice, Italy for a couple of days prior to boarding the NCL Jade in Venice. We will be taking A Mediterranean cruise which will last almost 2 weeks. We will be in a balcony cabin in the aft section of the ship. Our cruise will include stops in Croatia, Turkey and the Greek Isles. I will be writing about our daily activities and visits to various ports on our trip and posting quite a few photos showing our adventures during this vacation. We are really looking forward to this vacation.
