Off To Florida

Veronica had business plans to go to the Kissimmee, Florida so we decided to see if we could find a reasonably priced flight going there, so I could go with her.
With the price of air fares nowadays, I am not sure that there is such a thing as a reasonably priced flight.
I think that finding an air fare that doesn't hurt quite as much in the wallet would probably be the best way to put it.
Fortunately we did find a flight on Southwest Airlines that did not hurt quite as bad as some other airlines.
We left our Norfolk hotel at 4:30 this morning and arrived in beautiful Florida at 8:30 this morning.
Clear blue sunny skies, warm tropical breezes and tall palm trees greeted us as we left the airport on a Mears Shuttle van heading towards our home away from home for the next 3 nights.... The Gaylord Palms Resort
We have stayed at a few really nice hotels/resorts in our day but this might be the best yet.
This place is huge and quite different in several aspects.
They have 3 different themed areas in the resort and there is a huge glass enclosed atrium type of set up in the middle of the resort complex.
In this huge atrium are many restaurants, specialty shops, meeting rooms for business meetings, flowers and waterfalls, ponds with really large koi fish, an alligator and turtle pond to name just some of what is enclosed within this huge atrium.
Many of the rooms have balconies that overlook areas of this atrium.
They also have a spa, a 1st class fitness/workout facility, kids pools, hot tubs and an adults only pool.
There is also a convention center attached to this resort.
Like I said...this place is huge.
Veronica's meetings start tomorrow so today she mainly relaxed.
We took a stroll through the area and of course I took plenty of photos and videos. This is my first real opportunity to to run some real world tests on my new camera to see what it will do and to get a little more familiar with it.
I also decided to go to the adults only pool while Veronica relaxed in our room.
It was very nice and quiet there...no more than maybe 10 other people in the area.
It was very relaxing but I had to come in after a couple of hours and with the temperature getting into the high 90s.
It is supposed to be sunny and hot for the entire time we are here.
If it is going to be as hot tomorrow as it was today........that pool will be looking pretty inviting.
Here are just a few of the many photos that I took. I will upload lots more upon my return home.
Here are some photos of our room that was in the St. Augustine wing of this resort.

Besides the flat screen tv, there was a fridge and a microwave in the armoire

Her are some of the photos taken of the large glass enclosed atrium area

I have got plenty more to upload but that will be it for tonight.
