BLOGGING MEMORIES OF LIFE

About 1 year ago, Veronica gave me a journal book and suggested that I write down my thoughts on a daily basis and she would do the same. That way when either one of us died, the other would be able to read the journal and have something that was written by the other. To be honest with you, I really did not have the interest or drive to sit each day and hand write how I felt, my thoughts of the day or what might be bothering me. Call my lack of interest whatever you want, but let's call it what it truly was....laziness and boredom. I really don't like sitting and handwriting anything down on a daily basis....I find it really boring. My handwriting is atrocious and my thought process does not blend well with handwriting everything down, especially when trying to compose something so that it reads like I had put some sort of serious thought to it. I originally started my blog so that I could journal what I felt was meaningful to me, throw in a few personal thoughts, some tidbits of humor, some photos for good measure and share it with all of you. But as my blog has grown over the days, weeks and months and looking back on it's growth and content, I have discovered that I was actually doing what Veronica had asked me to do but in a format that I enjoyed doing and one that is so much better than the hand written journal method ...instead of being one dimensional, now we have something that is multi-dimensional.I do enjoy people visiting my blog and I don't mind sharing portions of my life's journeys with you, but at the end of my days, this blog is truly for Veronica. One of these days after I have left this world and you feel alone or sad or just want to reminisce, with me in your thoughts....Veronica....with the snow lightly falling outside...with the fireplace crackling....put on your warm jammies and pour yourself a cup of our favorite coffee...not too much cream for you, so unlike the way I enjoy it...lol... find a comfy couch to sit in...and let's take that walk down memory lane together. Just like this blog, I will always be here...awaiting those special visits from you....where we can be together again. Love Always......Rick

I really get what you're coming from. I started my blog for the same reason. Mine is quite shallow and teenage though, but I get deeper the more people read. I could never seem to hold my concentration on paper so my only chance was online. And there started my blog.

Well...Blog of note, well done.
If you have time, check out mine?

Lucy
....best wishes

That is what LOVE is all about!!!! Im such a romantic and if you was to ask anyone that knows me I am always seeking out those people that you can just see are so in love with each other. Seems to be something that isn't always very easy to find, but when you do wow it takes your breath away. Veronica is very lucky to be able to share this journey we call life with you, enjoy it and never ever lose what you have!!

When I found Veronicas' blog and read a few things she said about her husband I knew right away that you have a special relationship. I knew that because my husband and I are very much best friends, we've been together for a very long time.
Now that we're older and have time, each morning we have our coffee in the living room and share our thoughts, whether its something past , present, or future, its a wonderful time of the day. Your both blessed to have each other and when your older you'll find yourselves having morning coffee, or tea and sharing your thoughts with your best friend.

Me and my last gf had something we did called the 'redbook' where we wrote down whenever we got angry at each other, and swapped the book every week. It really helped to sort out arguments, sharing your feelings is paramount to keeping people together

Hi,
First and foremost, thank you for visiting my blog - as you ca probably tell from the single post, I am new. But there are many more blogs to come.
I read 'Blogging Memories of Life' while I was in my office this afternoon and I have to say that the sentiment behind your blog is commendable.
As someone else [Kathy] said, Veronica is definately a lucky lady and I look forward to reading more.
Take care :-)

This is beautiful and so true. I guess I never thought of it that way, but it's great.

I would always love to keep a written journal, but I just sort of forget. Hopefully one day I can look back on my own blog, and others can look too, to remember how I used to be and what life was like in 2009!

So it was good to see that I'm not alone in the blogosphere. Your dedication to your wife was very sweet, and it seems like you two are very close. I look forward to future posts.

My Dad passed away only 1 1/2 years ago, cancer of the bladder, and even though he was terminal, he fought the good fight all the way. But I really don't think he thought that he was going to lose - if you know what I mean, and so I really honor why you write what you write for Veronica - I wish I had such words of connection and comfort from my father on many a day. Thank you.
