Seasons Greetings And Rock Art

My friend, Ken Gauthier from Canada sent me this story and photos via email and I thought that I would share the story with you. The painting is pretty darn good!!! You can click on each picture to get it to enlarge.

Can't believe this was done by a teenager!!
There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa . For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos. (all angles) of the rock. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Here's the artist
Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen.

Great art and a better use for the rock than mindless graffiti. This wouldnt happen in England. He would have been arrested for criminal damage, the English have lost thier Identity and do not share the same patriotic ideals as our US cousins, in England someone would have complained and the council would have washed it off. By the way I am a Welshman. I would love to see this happen here!
